Xiaomi to expand investment in 6G research and standardizationXiaomi announced that its research results were selected among the "Top Ten Advances in Beijing 6G Laboratory" at the 2025 6G Development Conference. The recognition highlights Xiaomi's end‑to‑end AI wireless technology prototyping system, which builds a hardware and software platform for testing next‑generation wireless AI solutions.

The system supports single‑module deployment of transceiver links, multi‑module joint deployment, and end‑to‑end integration. It enables AI‑based control information transmission and AI‑based business data transmission. A cross‑layer processing mechanism was introduced to jointly handle sources and channels, verifying several potential key technologies for wireless AI. These results provide important direction for ongoing 6G standardization discussions.

At the Beijing 6G Industry Development Sub‑forum, the city's Bureau of Economy and Information Technology released the "Top Ten Advances in Beijing 6G Laboratory" for the first time. Alongside Xiaomi, other major telecom companies such as ZTE, China Mobile, China Telecom, and China Unicom showcased breakthroughs including a 256TR U6G base station prototype, a 10,000‑level oscillator electromagnetic lens, intelligent orchestration systems, cloud‑based synaesthesia base stations, long‑distance terahertz transmission records, satellite IoV environments, intelligent metasurface innovations, star‑earth integration trials, and holographic metasurface antenna arrays.

Xiaomi stated it will continue to increase investment in 6G research and standardization, aiming to strengthen its role in shaping wireless AI technologies for the next generation of mobile networks.
