Zhaoxin previews next‑generation KX‑8000 CPU with 4 GHz clocks, PCIe 5.0, and DDR5 supportZhaoxin has confirmed in its year‑end report that the company's next‑generation KX‑8000 x86 processor will debut in 2026, marking a major step forward for China's domestic CPU ecosystem. The new chip is positioned for cost‑effective PC and embedded applications and will feature a boost clock exceeding 4 GHz, along with support for PCIe 5.0, DDR5 memory, and a high‑performance integrated GPU.

The announcement highlights Zhaoxin's continued push to improve performance and compatibility in the x86 space, an area where full ecosystem support remains essential. The company states that the KX‑8000 will deliver significantly upgraded performance and a more modern I/O platform, aiming to accelerate adoption in industrial and commercial computing scenarios.

Zhaoxin's current flagship, the KX‑7000 series released in 2023, is built on the company's independent Century Avenue microarchitecture and uses a Chiplet‑based interconnect design. It reaches up to 3.7 GHz, includes 32 MB of cache, and supports up to 128 GB of DDR5 or DDR4 memory. The platform integrates 24 lanes of PCIe 4.0, USB4, USB3, SATA3, and a GPU compatible with DX12 and OpenGL 4.6. It also supports SM2/SM3/SM4 national‑standard cryptography acceleration and full virtualization for both CPU and I/O.

According to official data, the KX‑7000 delivers double the compute performance and quadruple the graphics performance compared to the previous generation, setting the stage for the more advanced KX‑8000 family arriving next year.
