TerraMaster D1 SSD Pro delivers 80Gbps speed for 8K workflows

The D1 SSD Pro addresses the bottlenecks of traditional mobile storage by offering a theoretical transmission bandwidth of 80Gbps. When tested with a Samsung 990PRO 4TB SSD, real-world read and write speeds exceeded 7000 MB/s, doubling the performance of previous Thunderbolt 4 devices. This means transferring a 6 GB file takes only about one second, significantly reducing waiting times during post-production.
Heat management is a major focus. The device continues TerraMaster's all-aluminum CNC integrated body design and adds a 34-piece wrap-around fin cooling structure. Combined with high-conductivity silicone pads and a metal heat dissipation vest, it forms a passive global cooling system. This ensures stable performance even under long-term, high-load operation.
Compatibility is broad. The D1 SSD Pro supports PCIe Gen 3.0, 4.0, and the latest 5.0 NVMe protocols, allowing seamless upgrades from mainstream high-capacity drives to future flagship disks. With the TDAS mobile client, users can directly connect for backup of mobile footage, simplifying workflows.
Another highlight is the intelligent indicator interface. The device automatically recognizes the current connection protocol. When connected to ultra-high-speed interfaces such as Thunderbolt 5, 4, 3, or USB4, the indicator light turns white, signaling peak performance. When connected to USB 3.2 or lower, the light turns orange, indicating standard speed. This visual diagnostic system helps users quickly identify bottlenecks without additional software.
