Realme has officially announced the upcoming launch of its 16 Pro series, which will premiere the brand-new LumaColor imaging technology. Developed jointly with TÜV Rheinland, this breakthrough introduces the industry's first light-color collaborative processing solution, designed to deliver more natural skin tones, richer light and shadow layers, and immersive portrait effects.
Traditional imaging systems often process light and color separately, leading to issues such as overexposure or color distortion. LumaColor solves this by intelligently matching light and color, producing images that feel more realistic and emotionally engaging. The technology also integrates full-dimensional skin tone optimization, optical depth-of-field fusion blur, and advanced light-and-shadow reconstruction, ensuring portraits stand out with clarity and atmosphere.
Realme explains that LumaColor's optical depth-of-field fusion allows subjects to pop against backgrounds, creating an immersive shooting experience. Meanwhile, its light-and-shadow reconstruction adds texture and depth, enhancing the overall visual quality. Together, these features position the Realme 16 Pro series as a benchmark for portrait photography in smartphones.
The Realme 16 Pro has already received network access certification and is expected to launch globally in January. Early details confirm a slim 192 g body housing a large 7000 mAh battery, highlighting Realme's focus on balancing design with endurance.
