Visionox announces OLED breakthrough with pTSF technology for lower power and longer life
Visionox has revealed that its fourth‑generation pTSF (phosphorescent‑assisted heat‑activated sensitization fluorescence) technology, jointly developed with Tsinghua University, has entered mass production and commercial use.
The announcement was made at the "Sensitization Fluorescence and OLED New Materials Technology Development Forum" hosted by Tsinghua University. This marks a major milestone for China's OLED industry, shifting from long‑term reliance on foreign suppliers to independent leadership in key display materials.
Screens equipped with high‑efficiency pTSF devices reduce power consumption by more than 12% and extend lifespan by 15%. Wide‑gamut versions expand color coverage from the traditional DCI‑P3 standard to Adobe RGB and BT.2020, while cutting power use by another 6% and boosting lifespan by 20%. Color accuracy reaches professional levels, delivering more realistic visuals for consumers.
Visionox emphasized that pTSF technology addresses long‑standing weaknesses in OLED materials, breaking foreign monopolies and securing complete intellectual property rights across principles, materials, devices, and processes. The innovation provides technical support for medium‑ and large‑size AMOLED applications, including laptops, automotive displays, and IT equipment.
Professor Duan Lian of Tsinghua University, the inventor of pTSF, noted that the breakthrough has attracted wide industry attention and is expected to help China's OLED sector "change lanes and overtake" in global competition.
