Huawei Qingyun HM740 launches with HarmonyOS Enterprise Edition, 21-hour battery life
Huawei has officially introduced the Qingyun HM740, a new-generation HarmonyOS computer designed for government and enterprise users. The device emphasizes full-link independence and controllability, from system to ecosystem, aiming to deliver secure and efficient productivity solutions for industries such as finance, energy, and public administration.
The Qingyun HM740 features a 14.5 mm thin body weighing just 1.32 kg, paired with a 2.8K OLED touchscreen that supports a 120 Hz refresh rate, 100% sRGB and P3 dual color gamut, and TÜV Rheinland eye comfort certification. It also supports the HUAWEI M-Pen 3 stylus, which can switch to an "air mouse" mode for presentations.
Battery life is a major highlight: the built-in 70 Wh battery delivers up to 21 hours of local 1080p video playback or 15 hours of voice conferencing. Performance benchmarks show 2.5 GB decompression in 2.7 seconds and compression in 9.8 seconds, surpassing many competitors, including Apple's MacBook M4 edition.
Connectivity is enhanced with Huawei's first triple-antenna Wi-Fi 7+ system, capable of maintaining stable connections up to 420 meters in open environments. The device also supports "Star Flash" peripherals for faster response and smoother collaboration, as well as shutdown search functions that allow enterprises to remotely locate, lock, or erase data to prevent asset loss. Ports include USB 3.2, RJ45, HDMI, Type-C, and a hardware privacy switch for disabling the camera and microphone.
On the software side, the HarmonyOS Enterprise Edition introduces upgraded Xiaoyi Assistant features such as deep research (generating report-level documents in 20 minutes), intelligent file management, and automatic meeting minutes. The system also debuts "Enterprise Digital Dual Space," allowing users to switch between personal and enterprise environments with a four-finger gesture. Enterprise data is encrypted, while personal space supports social and entertainment apps, reducing cross-leakage risks.
