Canton Fair hits record with 32,000 exhibitors and 350,000 smart products
This year's Canton Fair features more than 32,000 exhibitors, a record high, with roughly 3,600 companies participating for the first time. Showcased at the event were over 350,000 smart products, ranging from AI glasses with real-time translation to washing machines that detect fabric types and choose the optimal cycle, temperature-controlled air conditioners that recognize regional dialects, and AI-enabled TVs offering around-the-clock interaction. These introductions underscore how quickly AI is being woven into thousands of industries.The Canton Fair remains a reliable barometer of China's foreign trade and an indicator of broader industrial trends. The changing mix of exhibits highlights the direction of China's industrial upgrading, driven by innovation. In the first three quarters of the year, China's foreign trade expanded by 4 percent. Continued emphasis on intelligent manufacturing is shaping a new definition of "Made in China," strengthening the country's role in global trade and helping businesses connect internationally.
The 138th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) takes place in Guangzhou from October 15 to November 4, 2025. Co-organized by China's Ministry of Commerce and the Guangdong provincial government, the event covers about 1.55 million square meters. It runs offline in three phases-the first phase from October 15 to 19, the second from October 23 to 27, and the third from October 31 to November 4-while an online platform operates simultaneously. Companies can also participate virtually using the fair's cloud exhibition hall management system.
