vivo S50 series to debut with Snapdragon 8 Gen5 small-screen flagship
vivo has officially announced that its new S50 smartphone series will be unveiled on December 15, 2025, at 7:00 PM China Standard Time. The launch will be streamed online and will feature actress Tian Xiwei as the aesthetic ambassador for the series.
The lineup includes two models: the vivo S50 and the S50 Pro mini. Both devices will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 series flagship platform. The S50 will feature the Snapdragon 8s Gen3, while the S50 Pro mini will be equipped with the more advanced Snapdragon 8 Gen5 chip. This makes the S50 Pro mini the world's first small-screen smartphone to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen5 processor.
In addition to powerful performance, the S50 series will offer impressive imaging capabilities. The phones will include a Sony IMX882 periscope-style main camera, designed to deliver high-quality zoom and low-light photography.
Security and convenience are also upgraded with the inclusion of a new 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, which promises faster and more accurate unlocking compared to traditional optical sensors.
vivo claims the S50 series will be highly competitive in its category, offering flagship-level features in a compact form factor. More details, including pricing and availability, will be revealed during the official launch event.
