Hisense unveils 163‑inch MicroLED TV with 33.17 million pixels (8K, 7680x4320)
Hisense has introduced a massive 163‑inch MicroLED television, the 163MX, during CES 2026. The display features 33.17 million self‑emitting sub‑pixels and delivers precise independent light control with full BT.2020 color‑gamut coverage. Even at this extreme size, the panel maintains uniform color performance across the entire screen.
Despite its scale, the 163MX keeps a slim 32 mm (1.26 in) profile and supports a zero‑gap wall‑mount system for a clean, seamless installation. The TV uses an RGBY four‑color pixel structure, adding yellow sub‑pixels to fill the spectral gap found in traditional RGB displays in the 500-600 nm wavelength range. According to Hisense, this design improves warm‑tone accuracy, smooths color transitions, and enhances natural‑material rendering, skin tones, and cinematic lighting effects.
The 163MX is based on the company's earlier 136MX MicroLED model and is not intended for mass‑market retail. Instead, it serves as a high‑end technology showcase demonstrating Hisense's advancements in ultra‑large MicroLED engineering. Pricing was not announced, but comparable MicroLED displays of 100 inches often exceed USD 150,000 (approx. RMB 1,080,000), placing this model firmly in the luxury‑installation category.
Hisense is one of China's largest consumer‑electronics manufacturers, founded in 1969 and headquartered in Qingdao. The company operates globally across televisions, appliances, smart‑home systems, and commercial display technologies. In recent years, Hisense has invested heavily in premium display research, including Mini‑LED, Laser TV, and MicroLED development, positioning itself as a major competitor to Korean and Japanese brands in the high‑end TV market.
