Haier Smart Home selected As first pilot-level smart factory
As global manufacturing undergoes profound changes, intelligent transformation has become a necessary path for companies. Haier Smart Home has emerged as a leader in this wave of innovation.
On November 27, 2025, during the World Intelligent Manufacturing Conference, Haier's Central Air Conditioning Interconnection Factory was listed in the first batch of pilot-level smart factory cultivation programs. It ranked first in the home appliance industry, following earlier recognition of Haier's Chongqing Refrigerator and Shanghai Washing Machine factories as global lighthouse factories.
The pilot-level designation represents the highest certification in China's smart factory development program, led by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It not only measures a company's level of intelligent manufacturing but also signals China's push toward high-end global manufacturing.
Haier Smart Home's success is tied to its forward-looking strategy in intelligent manufacturing. The company has consistently focused on user-centered design, using AI to enable large-scale customization and meet personalized needs quickly. At the Central Air Conditioning Interconnection Factory, Haier integrates user requirements across the entire production cycle, from order placement to manufacturing, delivery, and maintenance.
For example, the factory applies AI simulation research and AI online detection to ensure high efficiency and product quality. Its maglev central air conditioners achieve an average energy savings of 50 percent compared to traditional systems, setting an industry benchmark.
Haier also emphasizes employee development. At the Chongqing Refrigerator Interconnection Factory, recognized as the world's first "talent lighthouse" factory, an employee innovation incentive platform was created. This system transforms market demand into specific tasks, builds cross-functional teams, and closes the loop with rewards. As a result, employee participation in innovation increased by 61 percent.
Haier's approach demonstrates that intelligent manufacturing is not just about automation. Instead, it aims to build an ecosystem where users, employees, and technology collaborate efficiently to create win-win outcomes. By combining user leadership with talent activation, Haier has redefined the value of intelligent manufacturing.
