Dongfeng delivers first mass‑produced Beidou‑equipped Fengshen SKY EV01, ending heavy reliance on GPSDongfeng Motor has officially launched the Fengshen SKY EV01, the world's first mass‑produced passenger vehicle equipped with Dongfeng Tianyuan's fully independent Beidou intelligent communication and positioning terminal. The first batch of 500 vehicles has now been delivered, marking a major milestone in large‑scale "Beidou + automotive" integration.

The achievement reflects Dongfeng's breakthrough across the entire chain of Beidou technology - from chip and module R&D to intelligent‑terminal design, system integration, and full‑vehicle adaptation. Working with more than ten partners, including China Information Technology, Dongfeng increased the localization rate of its independent Beidou terminal to 90%, eliminating dependence on GPS‑based positioning.

With the independent Beidou system onboard, the SKY EV01 offers higher safety and significantly improved positioning performance. In the Asia‑Pacific region, where Beidou coverage is strongest, the system provides more accurate positioning and maintains stable communication even in remote or weak‑signal environments. This ensures uninterrupted vehicle connectivity and reliable location tracking, improving both operational safety and user experience.

The SKY EV01 also debuts the industry's first square CTP module‑less mass‑produced battery. Energy density is increased by 3%, and battery‑pack volume is reduced by 10%. Two battery options are available: 50.82 kWh and 61.24 kWh, delivering CLTC ranges of 445 km and 530 km (≈276 and 329 miles).

All models come standard with liquid‑cooled battery thermal management, ensuring optimal performance between −30°C and 55°C (≈−22°F to 131°F). A wide‑temperature‑range high‑efficiency heat pump boosts overall range by 30% and continues operating even in extreme −30°C conditions.
