China achieves key breakthrough in domestic carbon fiber production: 0.5g strand supports 200kg loadChina has successfully launched mass production of high-performance T1000-grade carbon fiber, marking a major milestone in the country's advanced materials sector. The Shanxi Datong facility recently completed and activated its first-phase demonstration line, capable of producing 200 metric tons annually.

The domestically produced T1000 carbon fiber features monofilaments with diameters of just 6-7 microns-less than one-tenth the width of a human hair. Despite its ultra-lightweight structure, the fiber boasts a tensile strength of 6,400 MPa. Its density is approximately one-quarter that of steel, yet its strength exceeds steel by more than five times.

To illustrate its performance: a one-meter strand of Huayang T1000 carbon fiber weighs only 0.5 grams (0.018 oz) but can support a load exceeding 200 kilograms (440 lbs).

Beyond strength and weight, the fiber offers a suite of advanced properties: *resistance to extreme temperatures, corrosion, and friction*, along with *excellent thermal and electrical conductivity*. These attributes make it ideal for use in *defense, aerospace, rail transit, and emerging low-altitude economic applications*.

This breakthrough significantly enhances China's self-sufficiency in strategic materials and strengthens its position in the global high-tech materials industry.
