Midea unveils six-arm humanoid robot Miro U, set for factory deployment by year-endMidea Group has officially introduced its latest humanoid robot, Miro U, during a public presentation by Wei Chang, the company's vice president and chief technology officer. This marks the first appearance of the six-arm wheeled humanoid robot, which is designed to push beyond the limits of human physiology in industrial operations.

Miro U is the third generation in Midea's humanoid robot family, built entirely with self-developed core technologies. It features stable lifting, 360-degree in-place rotation, and six bionic robotic arms capable of high-precision, flexible control. The end actuators support rapid switching between multiple modules, enabling a multi-dimensional collaborative operation system.

The robot will be deployed at Midea's Wuxi high-end washing machine factory by the end of this year. It is expected to improve production line efficiency significantly, with line change adjustments projected to increase by 30 percent.

Midea's robotics strategy dates back to 2014 with the establishment of Academia Sinica. In 2017, the company acquired Germany's KUKA Group, followed by the creation of the National Key Laboratory of High-end Heavy-Duty Robots in 2022 and the Humanoid Robot Innovation Center in 2024. These initiatives have built a full-chain R&D capability from core components to complete machine systems.

Beyond industrial-grade robots, Midea is also preparing the "Meila" series for commercial and household scenarios. These units are currently in final testing and are expected to enter offline experience stores in 2026, taking on service roles such as tours and demonstrations.
