Huawei Xiaoyi leads HarmonyOS into the Agent eraOn November 27, 2025, Huawei unveiled major upgrades to its Xiaoyi AI agent at CCTV's 2025 Science and Technology Innovation Conference. Under the theme "A New Generation of Smart Terminals Unlocking the Intelligent Future," the event highlighted Xiaoyi's role as a system-level agent powering HarmonyOS across devices and scenarios.

Jia Yongli, President of Huawei's Device Cloud Service Xiaoyi Business Department, delivered a keynote titled "AI Agent Leads Terminals into a New Era." He emphasized that Xiaoyi now acts as a central control brain, capable of breaking down complex tasks and coordinating HarmonyOS agents to deliver seamless, intelligent experiences.

Xiaoyi's evolution includes multimodal interaction, full-scene fusion perception, open ecosystem collaboration, and enhanced privacy protection. It supports cross-device coordination - for example, taking photos via a car camera and later retrieving them on a smart TV at home.

In professional settings, Xiaoyi's "in-depth research" agent can simulate expert thinking to generate business plans, reports, and presentations in under 30 minutes. In daily life, its "Task Space" autonomously handles travel planning, ticketing, hotel booking, and dining recommendations.

Xiaoyi also supports accessibility features for visually impaired users, such as object recognition, obstacle alerts, and directional guidance. These capabilities are powered by Huawei's HarmonyOS Personal Intelligent Computing (HPIC) platform, which ensures secure, user-controlled data processing.

Huawei has partnered with over 80 HarmonyOS application agents, including JD.com, Ctrip, Huatai Securities, Himalaya, and Shenzhen Airlines. These agents integrate with Xiaoyi to deliver specialized services, such as medical consultations, ticket purchasing, and report interpretation.
