CCTV spotlights Yadea as national standard for electric bike safety goes live
On December 1, 2025, China officially implemented its new national safety standard for electric bicycles. In a special report, CCTV Finance selected Yadea-the country's leading electric vehicle brand-as a benchmark to showcase the industry's transformation.
Yadea was among the first manufacturers to fully adopt the new standard, halting production of older models as early as August. Its six major smart manufacturing bases were included in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's "white list," underscoring its compliance leadership.
The company's latest models have passed CCC certification and are already available in stores. Technically, Yadea has built a multi-layered safety system that includes flame-retardant materials, tamper-proof firmware encryption, and advanced energy solutions like sodium-ion batteries. These innovations exceed the new regulatory requirements and redefine safety benchmarks for the industry.
Despite broader market pressures, Yadea reported ¥19.186 billion (approx. $2.7 billion USD) in revenue for the first half of 2025-a 33.1% year-over-year increase. With over 100 million users worldwide, Yadea has ranked No. 1 in global electric two-wheeler sales for eight consecutive years. Its products are now exported to 100 countries, and its frequent appearances in CCTV's overseas coverage reinforce its role as a flagship of "Made in China."
In-store experiences have also evolved. Yadea staff now encourage customers to "test ride first, then decide," allowing users to directly feel improvements in handling and safety. Battery safety, flame-retardant components, and compliance design are now top priorities for buyers.
CCTV's coverage affirms Yadea's alignment with China's green development goals under the 15th Five-Year Plan. The company's proactive upgrades not only set a benchmark for the industry but also reflect China's broader push toward high-quality, low-carbon mobility.
