NIO and Zhongan Energy launch first 50 battery swap stations in Anhui Province
On December 18, 2025, NIO Energy and Zhongan Energy officially launched the first batch of 50 jointly built battery swap stations across Anhui Province. This rollout marks a significant step forward in their strategic collaboration and reflects NIO's commitment to open ecosystem development and infrastructure sharing.
The partnership is part of NIO's "Power Partner" initiative, introduced in August 2024. As of now, NIO has teamed up with 35 companies across 25 provinces and regions, resulting in the construction of approximately 1,200 battery swap stations nationwide. The program has entered a new phase of scaled deployment and industrial cooperation.
To date, NIO has invested around ¥18 billion (≈$2.5 billion USD) in charging and swapping infrastructure. The company has built a total of 8,466 stations across China, including 3,627 battery swap stations and 4,839 charging stations. Its high-speed battery swap network now connects 550 cities nationwide.
In areas with limited infrastructure but high demand, NIO has established 80 "Power Scenery Lines" - optimized routes for EV travel - and opened access to all new energy vehicle users. The goal is to make locations previously accessible only to gas-powered vehicles equally reachable by electric cars.
As of December 2025, NIO has provided nearly 95 million battery swap services. The company is expected to surpass 100 million swaps soon, solidifying battery swapping as a mainstream energy replenishment model in China.
