Huawei unveils nova 15 Ultra with 6.8 mm body, the thinnest Ultra in nova historyHuawei has officially launched the nova 15 series, with the top‑tier nova 15 Ultra taking the spotlight. The device introduces a new internal three‑dimensional stacking architecture paired with an aviation‑grade metal frame, significantly improving durability through enhanced resistance to bending and compression.

Thanks to the redesigned structure, the nova 15 Ultra achieves an extremely slim 6.8 mm profile, making it the thinnest nova model ever released. Compared with the previous generation, the thickness has been reduced by 12.6 percent. Huawei also states that this is currently the thinnest Ultra‑class smartphone available in the industry.

Despite its ultra‑thin build, the nova 15 Ultra houses a 6500 mAh silicon‑carbon battery, offering higher energy density than traditional lithium‑ion cells. The device also supports IP68 and IP69 dust‑ and water‑resistance ratings, providing protection against immersion and high‑pressure water jets.

According to Huawei, overall device performance has increased by 18 percent compared with the previous‑generation nova 14 Ultra. This marks the first time a nova‑series smartphone has been equipped with a Kirin 9‑series chipset. The Kirin 9010S is deeply optimized to work with Huawei's Hongmeng (HarmonyOS) system, forming a fully self‑developed closed‑loop experience that integrates chip, system, and ecosystem.

The front of the phone uses Huawei's Kunlun Glass for improved drop resistance. The 1 TB version goes a step further with the industry's first anti‑reflective basalt‑tempered Kunlun Glass, which reduces screen reflections by 65 percent. Color options include purple, green, zero white, and magic night black, all featuring a unified aluminum frame.
