BYD overtakes Tesla to become the world's top pure‑electric automaker for the first time

Across all NEV categories, BYD delivered more than 4.6 million vehicles in 2025, maintaining its position as the world's largest new‑energy automaker. Tesla, meanwhile, recorded 1.636 million global deliveries, an 8.6 percent year‑over‑year decline and its second consecutive annual drop.
