Xiaomi's smart home appliance factory debuts first self-produced central air conditioner
Xiaomi has announced the release of its first self-produced central air conditioner, the Mijia Central Air Conditioning Pro Double Wind Wheel series, manufactured at its newly completed smart home appliance factory in Wuhan New Town.
The factory, which began operations in October, integrates research and development, production, verification, and logistics. It includes six workshops and 46 laboratories, supported by Xiaomi's self-developed Surging Intelligent Manufacturing Platform. With AI-powered visual quality inspection, the facility achieves 100% automation on key production lines, allowing a high-end air conditioner to roll off the line in just 6.5 seconds.
The Mijia Central Air Conditioning Pro Double Wind Wheel series offers dual wind wheels, ultra-low 6 Hz frequency operation, dual air outlets, and warm air functionality. Five models are currently available:
- 5 HP one-to-four system
- 6 HP one-to-four system
- Large 6 HP one-to-five system
- 7 HP one-to-six system
- 8 HP one-to-six system
Xiaomi confirmed that the factory will expand production to include refrigerators, washing machines, and other categories of home appliances, moving away from the perception of relying on OEM manufacturing.
