Baiwei Mini SSD CL100 officially released: half-coin size storage solutionBaiwei has announced the official launch of its Mini SSD CL100, currently the smallest consumer-grade solid-state drive available on the market.

The CL100 measures just 15 x 17 x 1.4 millimeters, about the size of half a coin, and weighs only around 1 gram. It uses a card-slot plug-in design and adopts an LGA package. Despite its tiny size, the drive is built to withstand drops from heights of up to 3 meters (about 10 feet) and is rated IP68 for dust and water resistance.

Performance is comparable to mainstream SSDs. The CL100 uses a PCIe 4.0 x2 high-speed interface with NVMe 1.4 protocol. Sequential read speeds reach up to 3700 MB/s, while write speeds can hit 3400 MB/s. Random read performance is rated at 550K IOPS, with random write performance up to 650K IOPS.

Reliability is also emphasized. The SSD comes with a three-year replacement-only warranty and has an average time between failures of 1.5 million hours.

The CL100 has already been adapted for several handheld devices, including the OnexPlayer X1 Air 3-in-1 PC, OnexPlayer APEX, OnexPlayer Super X, and GPD Win 5.

To expand usage scenarios, Baiwei has also introduced the RD510 high-speed card reader, the first accessory designed specifically for the CL100. It uses a USB 4.0 interface with read speeds of 40 Gbps and includes a built-in cooling fan.

Pricing for the CL100 starts at 599 yuan (about 85 USD) for the 512 GB version, 1099 yuan (about 155 USD) for the 1 TB version, and 2199 yuan (about 310 USD) for the 2 TB version.
