DJI overtakes GoPro to lead global action camera market with 66% share
DJI has become the global leader in action cameras, capturing 66% of market revenue by Q3 2025, according to Jiuqian Consulting. This marks a major shift from 2022-2023, when GoPro held 75% of the market. As of 2025, GoPro's share has dropped to 18%, followed by Chinese brand Shadowstone at 13%.
DJI's growth is driven by strong product development and ecosystem integration. Its panoramic camera, the Osmo360, launched on July 31 and quickly gained 49% of China's e-commerce market and 43% of global share within three months. Its cross-platform compatibility and competitive pricing helped reshape the panoramic camera segment.
On JD.com, DJI products dominate the "Action Camera Gold List," with the Osmo Action 5 Pro, Osmo Nano, and Osmo Action 4 holding the top three spots. The Osmo360 also led the "Outdoor Panoramic Action Camera Hot List" for 49 consecutive days, reflecting strong consumer demand.
DJI's success in handheld imaging builds on its dominance in the drone industry. With continued innovation in imaging technology and product synergy, DJI is now a major force in both aerial and handheld camera markets.
