Dongfeng celebrates 10,000th Mengshi M817 off-road SUV as new energy sales hit 1 million unitsDongfeng Motor has officially announced that the 10,000th Mengshi M817 has rolled off the production line, marking a major milestone for the brand's luxury off-road lineup. At the same time, Dongfeng confirmed that its cumulative new energy vehicle (NEV) sales have surpassed 1 million units in 2025.

The Mengshi M817 is positioned as a high-end intelligent off-road SUV, priced between 301,900 and 369,900 yuan (approximately 42,300 to 51,800 USD). It features a non-load-bearing body structure, three electronically controlled differential locks, and supports nine driving modes tailored for complex terrain including desert, snow, and mud.

The vehicle is equipped with Huawei's Qiankun Intelligent Driving ADS 4.0 system and the Harmony Space 5 cockpit, enabling seamless integration between the car and mobile devices. It also boasts a roof compression resistance of 20 tons, making it one of the most rugged SUVs in its class.

Power comes from a plug-in hybrid system combining a 1.5T engine with front and rear dual motors, paired with a 2-speed DHT gearbox. The system delivers a total output of 505 kW (686 hp) and 848 Nm (625 lb-ft) of torque, enabling 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration in just 5.2 seconds. Fuel consumption is rated at 7.24 L/100 km (32.5 mpg). The vehicle includes a large battery offering a CLTC pure electric range of 215 km (134 miles) and a total driving range of up to 1,365 km (848 miles). It also supports 25 kW parking power generation and 6 kW external discharge.

On December 15, Dongfeng exported the first batch of 400 Mengshi M817 units to the Middle East, with over 600 vehicles shipped in just two months. The model has seen a 197% year-over-year sales increase, solidifying its position as a leader in the luxury electric off-road segment.
